HIV Services in Scotland

NHS Quality Improvement Scotland is about to start developing national standards for HIV services across Scotland that are delivered through the NHS and some voluntary organisations. They will cover Prevention, Recognition and Diagnosis, Treatment and Care.

It is crucial that we involve people affected by HIV in the standards development process therefore, we are planning to establish an Advocacy Group to work in partnership with the Project Group. We are very keen to hear from:

patients and/or service users affected by HIV

carers and/or family members affected by HIV

How you can be involved:

If you would like to be involved in developing these standards, you can do so in a number of ways:

Join the Advocacy Group – give time to attend meetings/events to provide input – we will make support available to do this

Contact us – advise us of the issues that are important to you

Comment on the draft standards – provide comments on the first draft of the standards during the consultation phase.

Be informed – simply receive information about the development of the standards.

Spaces are limited but should you require more information on the support we can offer or would like to discuss further with someone at NHS QIS, you can contact us using the details below.

All communications will be treated in the strictest confidence!

HIV-AIDS Carers & Family Service Provider Scotland is pleased to announce the launch of our redesigned website, which we hope you agree is more fun and easy to use.

Launching a site that allows us to quickly update news pages and send out information has been a dream for more than 6 years. If it were not for donations awarded by The Rangers Charity Foundation, one service user, and several hundered members of the public who donated generously to us during our can collections the new site would still be a dream, so a big thank you, to all.

In addition, we owe a massive thank you to Janie at stc-webdesigns.co.uk who helped us out enormously. All we had to do was just put down our thoughts and hand it over. The rest we had to leave to the experts. We got a whole load for less, so to speak, and that included personal training, but one thing we can be sure of, is that if we get stuck there will be help to hand.

We hope over the next few months to increase the amount of information within each sub section, so if you have any thoughts or there is something you would like to see, then why not contact us and let us know. Or if you want to share some information or have an article posted then drop us note or send us an e-mail.
